Field Repair

Heat Gun Leister Triac S 120 V (1600 Watts, Temp Range 20-700 ºC) with optional Tubular Nozzle 5 mm

Field Repair
Clean Surface:

• Before starting lightly sand the damaged area with 80 grit sand paper
• Thoroughly clean surface with Isopropyl Alcohol
• Let dry

Cut Patch:

• Cut patch large enough to adequately cover the damaged area

Heat Surface:

• Heat Surface with Leister Triac S 120 V (1600 Watts, Temp Range 20-700 ºC, 68-1292 ºF)
• Accessory  Triac PID (Tubular Nozzel 5mm push-fit on)
• Gradually Heat Surface  holding heat gun tip 1 to 2 inches from surface until coating starts to flow approximately 5 to 10 minutes depending on substrate

Apply Patch:

• Apply patch to heated surface while heating with heat gun until patch flows into existing coating

Electrical Test:

• After patch spark test to assure the damage area was successfully repaired
